Gustavo Arteta, PhD

Gustavo Arteta, PhD is an Executive Director and Lead Latin America Economist for PGIM Fixed Income. Mr. Arteta comes to PGIM Fixed Income with more than ten years of experience in analyzing emerging economies, with a focus on Latin America.

Prior to joining our firm, he worked as a senior economist for Pharo Management. Before he was at UBS, first as Central America Economist and then as FX Strategist. Previously, Mr. Arteta was Economic and Social Affairs Secretary at the Italian-Latin American Institute in Rome. Earlier he served at the central bank of Ecuador and the World Bank.

He received his undergraduate, Master’s, and PhD degrees in Economics from George Mason University.
