Shikeb Farooqui, PhD is an Executive Director and Lead Economist for Asia for PGIM Fixed Income and is based in London. Mr. Farooqui collaborates with portfolio managers and investment teams to integrate macroeconomic insights into global strategies. Prior to his current role, Mr. Farooqui was an economist for the UK Civil Service, where he contributing to work streams at the UK Treasury and European Commission. He brings over 20 years of industry experience, having served in key roles at firms such as Pioneer International Consulting, Emso Asset Management LLP and Bluebay Asset Management LLP, where he focused on global Central Bank developments and cross-asset investment strategy. Mr. Farooqui holds a PhD and MSc in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra and a BSc in Economics from the London School of Economics. Mr. Farooqui has also completed postdoctoral work at the European University Institute and has been recognized by The Asset Magazine for his coverage of China and Asian macroeconomic trends.
