PGIM bolsters secondaries platform with senior Middle East hire

ZUG, Switzerland, 27 August 2026 – PGIM has expanded its secondaries platform, Montana Capital Partners (MCP), to the Middle East. MCP is the secondaries investment group of PGIM, the global asset management business of Prudential Financial, Inc. (PFI), with US$1.5 trillion in assets under management.

To lead the expansion, PGIM has hired Lucas Radal as head of Middle East Secondary Investments for MCP. In this newly created role, Radal will focus on sourcing and executing secondary investment opportunities globally and supporting PGIM’s capital formation efforts.

Radal will be based in the Abu Dhabi office, strengthening PGIM’s commitment to the Middle East. In addition to his global responsibilities, Radal will deepen coverage of Middle Eastern investors at a time when institutions are increasingly using the secondary market to manage private markets exposures, rebalance portfolios, and access liquidity from existing holdings.

PGIM has been active in the Middle East for decades and opened its Abu Dhabi office in 2024 to further reinforce its long-standing commitment to the region. Since establishing its on-the-ground presence in the Middle East, PGIM has been steadily building out its regional footprint, including through strategic partnerships with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office (ADIO) and Kamco Invest of Kuwait — underscoring a commitment as a long-term local partner.

PGIM expanded its secondaries platform into private credit earlier this year with the intention of deploying US$1 billion in private credit secondaries over the next two years. The secondaries platform was initially established in 2021 with the acquisition of Montana Capital Partners, which at the time was already an established private equity secondaries investment manager. The 2026 expansion saw PGIM build on this specialism in private equity secondaries with the addition of a capability in private credit, an asset class the asset manager has been operating in for 75 years.

“Lucas is an experienced private markets specialist, and he joins MCP at a pivotal time in the continued evolution of PGIM’s secondaries platform, complementing our presence in Switzerland and New York. He will play an important role in deepening our relationships with key market participants, enhancing our market insight, and supporting origination and partnership opportunities,” commented MCP CEO Dr. Stephan Wessel.

Prior to joining MCP, Radal was a senior investment executive at Mubadala Capital. Before that, he spent more than a decade at Ardian as part of their secondary practice.

Radal holds a master’s degree in general management from IAE Nantes and a master’s degree in international finance from IAE Aix-Marseille, where he lectures in private equity.
