Portfolio manager Albert Kwok gives his thoughts on why some investors may be disappointed in their emerging markets equity returns.
Investing involves risk. Some investments have more risk than others. Emerging markets securities are subject to greater volatility and price declines. The investment return and principal value will fluctuate and an investor’s shares, when sold, may be worth more or less than the original cost. Asset allocation and diversification do not assure a profit or protect against loss in declining markets. There is no guarantee an investment’s objectives will be achieved.
