Juan Castro-Anzola
Juan David Castro-Anzola is a Vice President with PGIM Agricultural Investments (PAI), the agricultural investment division of Prudential Financial, Inc. Juan David was appointed to his current expanded role in 2017 and works with Sr. Management in all activities related to agricultural investments in the Eastern Region including strategy, acquisitions, asset management, and dispositions on behalf of third-party institutional investors and Prudential's General Account. In addition, Juan David is responsible for evaluating and underwriting farmland investments throughout the Central Region, and previously led the agricultural market research and commodity publications for PAI.
Prior to his current role, Juan David spent five years (2010-14) working along PAI's Sr. Management in various key strategic and corporate initiatives for PGIM Agricultural Investments. He was also responsible for Agricultural Portfolio Analysis and annual reporting for Institutional Accounts, evaluating new investment opportunities in key agricultural sectors throughout the U.S., overseeing market and commodity research, assisting in portfolio construction and tactical investment allocation for current separate managed accounts, as well as the underwriting of farmland acquisitions throughout the U.S. with a focus on the Pacific West Region. He has analyzed and advised on over $800 million in farmland real estate investments for PAI.
Juan David joined PAI in 2006 as a debt investment analyst (2006-10) in the agricultural lending group for the Southeast Region. In this role, Juan David was responsible for the underwriting of over $400 million in debt investments for farmland, timber, and agribusiness companies in a wide range of commodity sectors and assisted the regional Vice-President in the analysis, structuring, and closing of transactions as well as the management of a $500 million loan Portfolio.
Juan David is a graduate from the University of Florida with both a Master's degree in Agribusiness ('06) as well as a Bachelor's degree ('04) in Food and Resource Economics (Summa Cum Laude). Juan David holds a Florida Real Estate License, is currently participating in the Florida Fruit and Vegetable Association's Emerging Leader Program (Class 8), has participated in risk management and appraisal courses, is a member of several agricultural organizations throughout the Southeast and a former member of the American Agricultural Economic Association and the National Agri-marketing Association.
