Yi YangYiYang

Yi Yang is Principal and Head of Insurance Portfolio Strategy for PGIM Multi-Asset Solutions (PMA). In this role, he is responsible for supporting clients with new transaction strategic asset allocations, deal mechanics, and asset strategy analyses. Mr. Yang is also PMA’s in-house expert on the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA), National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) and various other regulatory bodies.

Before joining PMA, Mr. Yang served as the Head of Investments Risk at Fortitude Re, where he and his team managed credit, market, liquidity, capital and deal related investment risk. He also served as the Chief Risk Officer of Fortitude Re’s U.S. operating entity, FLIAC.

Mr. Yang has more than 15 years of experience working in the re/insurance industry, having led organizations in a variety of roles including actuarial, hedging, investment, and risk management. Mr. Yang previously served as Head of Risk Analytics at Nassau Financial Group, where he was responsible for hedging, ALM, Economic Capital as well as risk assessment and surveillance. Prior to that, Mr. Yang spent more than a decade with Guardian Life, where he led the Variable Annuity Hedging function for five years and served as a Director in the ERM function.

Mr. Yang earned his Bachelors of Science in Math and Financial Economics from Centre College, as well as an MBA from Columbia University. Mr. Yang is a Chartered Financial Analyst Charterholder, and a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries.
