Michael K. Lillard, CFA, is Head of PGIM Fixed Income. In this role, he leads the day-to-day activities for the firm and assumes responsibility for all the firm’s business decisions. In addition to assuming the Head of Fixed Income role in January 2016, Lillard was also the firm’s CIO from 2008 to 2021. Prior to assuming CIO responsibilities, Mr. Lillard was Senior Investment Officer for Insurance Portfolios, Liability-Driven Investment Strategies, and Hedge Strategies at PGIM Fixed Income, and was Head of the Quantitative Research and Risk Management Group. Earlier, he was head of PGIM Fixed Income’s U.S. Liquidity Team, the group responsible for managing U.S. government and mortgage-backed securities and was also the portfolio manager for Core Fixed Income Strategies. Mr. Lillard began his career with the Firm in 1987 in the Portfolio Management Group. Mr. Lillard served as a member of the United States Treasury Borrowing Advisory Committee (TBAC) from 2014 to 2021. Mr. Lillard received a BS and MS in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and an MS in Management from the Sloan School at MIT. He holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
